The Austin Affordable Housing Corporation, AAHC, is a non-profit department of HACA and guarantees premium, affordable housing opportunities for Austin residents in need and continues to follow new entrepreneurial endeavors. AAHC manages the following programs:

If you are a first-time homebuyer and a resident of the Public Housing or the Housing Choice Voucher Programs, you have the chance to receive $10,000 to assist you with the down payment of a home. As funding for the Homeownership Program continues, we issue loans on a first-come, first-serve basis. All applicants must first be eligible to borrow a loan and also able to put down a $2,500 minimum on the purchase of their home. A wonderful part of the program and an incentive for borrowers is that after five years, if there are no payment defaults, the down payment assistance loan is forgiven.

Six-Star Resident

Are you ready to move out of public housing but do not meet all the qualifications to purchase a home? Look no further than the Six Star Resident Program. Participants in this program have the choice to live in an AAHC apartment home at a lower price than the fair market rental rate. Upon being housed in the Six Star Program, public housing assistance is discontinued. We require the program to be finished after three years and the rent price increases slightly each year until the amount reaches the fair market rate.
